Stage64 presents a Cantonese play: "Edelweiss"
In 1989, Ella, a young Hong Kong lady reporter met 2 students, Nan and Jun, in the Square. Nan, a Beijing Film Academy final year student, went to Tiananmen Square to persuade his crew to come back to shoot his graduation film. Jun, from Sichuan and a recent engineering graduate, disregarded his mother's order of immediate return to the province, and stayed behind to help maintain the public announcement system. They made friends, jested and argued, helped each other out, shed blood and lost touch. Could they meet again after 20 years?

Note to HKPTU members
20 years after the Tiananmen Protest, students and young teachers today may know little about the event, as it has been steadily obliterated or distorted. HKPTU calls upon members to encourage their students and young colleagues to come to the show, where they may begin their quest for the true history of June 4th through this love story, augmented by poems, songs and video clips.

HKPTU members may also buy tickets by post, specifying your name, HKPTU membership no., which show and no. of tickets, and enclosing a stamped return envelop and a crossed cheque in favour of Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union.
